"Many of you grew up with me," the 43-year-old entertainer said. "I hope you'll stay in touch with me. We'll learn about each other, and I'm so looking forward to getting back on the air with a show that you guys are needing to see."

"The Ricki Lake Show" initially ran from 1993 to 2004. In addition to her television work, Lake has also appeared in the films "Hairspray," "Cry-Baby" and "Serial Mom," and produced the documentary "The Business of Being Born."
