LOS ANGELES, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- "American Horror Story" star Connie Britton has adopted a 9-month-old boy named Eyob from Ethiopia, her publicist said Wednesday.

UsMagazine.com said the child's adoption was the result of a three-year process.

"I am thanking my lucky stars every day," Britton told the celebrity news Web site.

The former "Friday Night Lights" and "Spin City" star described the first time she held her son as "a wonderful moment of completion."

"I thought I was going to collapse into a puddle of tears," she said. "I was just grinning from ear to ear."
