'Potter,' 'Glee' lead People's Choice nominations

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Nov. 8 (UPI) -- The movie "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" and TV's "Glee" led the field when People's Choice Award nods were announced in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The final installment of the Harry Potter film franchise is in the running for nine of the fan-voted prizes, including Favorite Ensemble Movie Cast, Favorite Book Adaptation, Favorite Action Movie and Favorite Movie.

The other nominees in the Favorite Movie category are "Bridesmaids," "The Help," "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

Nominated for Favorite Movie Actor are Daniel Radcliffe, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Depp, Robert Pattinson and Ryan Reynolds. Radcliffe also is in the running for Favorite Movie Star Under 25.

Competing in the Favorite Movie Actress race are Anne Hathaway, Emma Stone, Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts and Reese Witherspoon.

The small-screen, music-themed series "Glee" is up for seven awards, including Favorite Network TV Comedy. The shows to beat in that competition are "The Big Bang Theory," "How I Met Your Mother," "Modern Family" and "Two and a Half Men."

"Glee" stars Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith are up against Alec Baldwin of "30 Rock," Jim Parsons of "The Big Bang Theory" and Neil Patrick Harris of "How I Met Your Mother" for the Favorite TV Comedy Actor award.

"Glee" leading ladies Jane Lynch and Lea Michele are competing against "Cougar Town" star Courteney Cox, "The Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco and "30 Rock" star Tina Fey in the Favorite TV Comedy Actress prize.

The nominees for Favorite Network TV Drama are "The Good Wife," "Grey's Anatomy," "House," "Supernatural" and "The Vampire Diaries."

Shortlisted for Favorite TV Drama Actor are David Boreanaz of "Bones," Hugh Laurie of "House," Ian Somerhalder of "The Vampire Diaries," Nathan Fillion of "Castle" and Patrick Dempsey of "Grey's Anatomy."

Nominated for Favorite TV Drama Actress are Blake Lively of "Gossip Girl," Ellen Pompeo of "Grey's Anatomy," Emily Deschanel of "Bones," Eva Longoria of "Desperate Housewives" and Nina Dobrev of "The Vampire Diaries."

Pop star Katy Perry picked up seven nominations across the music, film and television categories. She is up for Favorite Animated Movie Voice for "The Smurfs," Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Song for "E.T" with Kanye West, Favorite Pop Artist, Favorite Music Video for "Last Friday Night," Favorite Tour Headliner and Favorite TV Guest Star for "How I Met Your Mother."

The winners are to be announced Jan. 11 during a live CBS broadcast at the Nokia Theater, L.A. Live.
