LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- The sponsors of the pre-Emmy gala in Century City in Los Angeles say they raised a lot of money for charity.
The fourth annual Evening Before event Saturday night drew a full constellation of stars, including the nominees and presenters at Sunday's Emmy awards.
The Motion Picture-and-Television Fund was the beneficiary of the contributions. The exact amount raised was not announced; however, the funds will go to programs that benefit workers in the entertainment industry.
"We are overwhelmed by the entertainment community's continued generosity in giving back to take care of our own, as evidenced by their participation and contributions at this year's Evening Before event," Ken Scherer, CEO of the MPTF, said in a written statement.
The roll call of stars included Hank Azaria, Conan O'Brien, Amy Poehler, Heidi Klum and Neil Patrick Harris, among many others. The party was held outdoors a Century Park East with Wolfgang Puck bringing the food and Target, Revlon, HP and People magazine among the top sponsors.
