Miss Angola crowned Miss Universe

SAO PAULO, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Leila Lopes of Angola was crowned Miss Universe in Sao Paulo Monday night.

Lopes, 25, beat out 88 other contestants for the honor.

The pageant's runner-up was Olesia Stefanko of Ukraine and the third-place holder was Priscila Machado of Brazil.

Helios Castroneves, Vivica Fox, Connie Chung, Isabeli Fontana, Adrienne Maloof, Lea Salonga and Amelia Vega served as judges of the event at Credicard Hall.

Andy Cohen, host of Bravo's "Watch What Happens: Live," and Natalie Morales, news anchor of NBC's "Today," presided over the event.
