LOS ANGELES, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- U.S. cable network TNT says it will not renew its medical drama "HawthoRNe," starring Jada Pinkett Smith, for a fourth season.

"TNT truly appreciates the tremendous dedication of everyone involved," the network said in a statement issued to EW.com Friday. "The series gave TNT the opportunity to work with many outstanding people, including Jada Pinkett Smith and the rest of the show's talented cast, crew, producers and writers. We wish everyone involved with 'HawthoRNe' nothing but the best."

TNT also recently announced it had canceled its critically acclaimed, but ratings-challenged dramedy "Men of a Certain Age."
