Bono and Schwimmer paired on 'Dancing'

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Author and activist Chaz Bono, the transgender son of pop icon Cher, has been paired with Lacey Schwimmer on the U.S. series "Dancing with the Stars."

ABC announced the pairings of the celebrities and their professional dance partners for Season 13 this week.

In addition to Bono and Schwimmer, NBA champion Ron Artest was paired with Peta Murgatroyd; actor David Arquette was paired with Kym Johnson; actress Elisabetta Canalis was paired with Val Chmerkovskiy; reality star Kristen Cavallari was paired with Mark Ballas; TV host and journalist Nancy Grace was paired with Tristan MacManus; and reality TV personality Robert Kardashian was paired with Cheryl Burke.

The network also said TV personality Carson Kressley was paired with Anna Trebunskaya; actress and talk-show host Ricki Lake was paired with Derek Hough; Iraq war veteran and actor J.R. Martinez was paired with Karina Smirnoff; singer Chynna Phillips was paired with Tony Dovolani; and World Cup champ Hope Solo was paired with Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

All 12 couples are to dance for the first time on live national television during the show's season premiere Sept. 19.
