Ed O'Neill gets Walk of Fame star

HOLLYWOOD, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Television star Ed O'Neill was flanked by co-stars past and present when he was presented with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday.

Christina Applegate and Katey Sagal, who played O'Neill's daughter and wife on the long-running comedy series "Married with Children," and Sofia Vergara, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez, Ariel Winter, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet -- his on-screen kin in his current sitcom "Modern Family" -- attended the ceremony, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment said in a news release.

O'Neill's was the 2,446th star unveiled in the television category. It is located at 7021 Hollywood Boulevard in front of DSW Shoe Store, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said on its Web site.

The Blu-ray and DVD release of "Modern Family: The Complete Second Season" is set for Sept. 20.
