LOS ANGELES, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- The Style Network said it plans to air a special about actress Sherri Shepherd's upcoming Chicago wedding to TV writer Lamar Sally.

The program, which is to air Sept. 12, "invites viewers behind-the-scenes to witness all the excitement, from the early planning stages to the romantic one-of-a-kind wedding ceremony," the cable network said Thursday in a news release.

"In the special, viewers will see all the bridal drama and the mad rush of her planner as he organizes the numerous events, all leading up to the touching wedding vows between Sherri and her fiance. Friend and fellow co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck from 'The View' will be there to lend a hand and joins celebrity bridesmaids Kym Whitley, Yvette Nicole Brown and Niecy Nash at Sherri's fun and unpredictable wedding celebration."

Shepherd is a standup comedian, regular panelist on ABC's "The View" and host of "The Newlywed Game." She is the mother of a 6-year-old son and has been dating Sally for more than a year.

Shepherd also is an actress who has appeared on the sitcoms "Less than Perfect" and "Everybody Loves Raymond."
