LOS ANGELES, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- U.S. actress and TV personality Ricki Lake announced via Twitter Thursday she is engaged to Christian Evans, her boyfriend of about a year.
"Thrilled to share some happy news with you," People.com quoted Lake as writing online in a message accompanying a photo of her and Evans.
Lake starred in a string of John Waters' films, including the original "Hairspray" movie, "Cry-Baby" and "Serial Mom," and served as host of "The Ricki Lake Show" from 1993 to 2004.
She was divorced from artist Rob Sussman in 2005 after more than a decade of marriage. They have two sons -- Milo, 14, and Owen, 10.
