LOS ANGELES, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Jennifer Lopez is expected to serve as judge on "American Idol" for a second season, a producer for the singing competition series said Wednesday.

The singer-actress is to serve alongside Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler on the judges' panel for Season 11, which kicks off in January.

"I believe we're still waiting for the official announcements but I am delighted to say that all three judges, along with the brilliant host of 'American Idol,' is back for the next season," The Hollywood Reporter quoted producer Nigel Lythgoe as saying on Ryan Seacrest's morning radio show.

Seacrest is also host of "Idol."

The entertainment industry trade newspaper said Lopez earned $12 million on the show last year and has been lobbying for more money, possibly as much as $35 million a year, to return.
