NEW YORK, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- U.S. reality television personality Kate Gosselin, a divorced mother of twins and sextuplets, says she is ready to start dating again.

Gosselin starred with her young children and former husband Jon on the popular TLC series "Jon & Kate Plus 8," which ran for five seasons until 2009 when she and Jon split up. It was renamed "Kate Plus 8" and now focuses on Kate as a single mother of eight.

Jon's dating and Kate's attempts to keep her TV career going kept them in the media headlines through much of 2010, but they have kept lower profiles for the past year.

However, The Washington Post said Kate Gosselin discussed her own personal life when she appeared on Monday's edition of the "Today" show.

"I'm definitely ready to start dating," she said, adding, "I think there's a lot of obstacles for me."

The Post quoted her as saying she hopes her friends set her up with some nice guys since meeting men on her own can prove difficult, given her busy career and family life.

"I'm hoping that person is out there, because the kids on a daily basis are just begging me to get married again," she said.
