NEW YORK, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Comedy Central said Monday it plans to air a special taped during comedian-musician Weird Al Yankovic's latest North American stage tour.

"'Weird Al' Yankovic Live! -- The Alpocalypse Tour" is to air Oct. 1 on the cable station.

Yankovic's first televised concert special in more than a decade will feature parodies of songs by Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Britney Spears, P!nk, Lady Antebellum and Katy Perry. The program will also include the world premiere of the artist's next video, "Polka Face," a satirical version of Lady Gaga's "Poker Face."

An extended, feature-length cut version of the special is to be released on DVD, Blu-Ray and DTO Oct. 4.

"Weird Al is an American icon who is at the top of his game," David Bernath, executive vice president of program strategy and multi-platform programming for Comedy Central, said in a statement Monday. "He's as relevant and connected to his fans as he's ever been and we're thrilled to give our audience the first opportunity to watch this fantastic special."

"I totally agree with David Bernath," joked Yankovic. "I'm awesome."
