BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Sarah Michelle Gellar told a group of television critics in Beverly Hills she is returning to the ABC daytime drama "All My Children" this fall.

Gellar, who went on to star in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," said she wasn't sure what she would be doing in her guest appearance on "Children," but she won't be reprising her role as Kendall Hart Slater.

"I don't want to play Kendall, that's Alicia (Minshew)'s role," Gellar told the Television Critics Association.

Gellar expressed disappointment that ABC was pulling the plug on the venerable soap opera next month. The Los Angeles Times said the series will live on with an Internet version.

Gellar's near-term future includes a starring role as look-alike sisters in the CW series "Ringer."
