CHICAGO, July 29 (UPI) -- Author and TV personality Jenny McCarthy has decided against starring in a talk show for the Oprah Winfrey Network, the Chicago Sun-Times said.

Creative differences have been cited as the reason why McCarthy is now in talks to take the show to NBC, Sun-Times columnist Bill Zwecker reported Friday.

"OWN does not have a show in development with Jenny McCarthy," OWN said in a statement. NBC declined to comment on projects it may or may not have in development.

Winfrey wrapped up "The Oprah Winfrey Show" last May after 25 years so she could focus on her cable network.

"OWN clearly needs a big infusion of compelling programming if it's going to begin to build a decent-sized audience, but Jenny should have thought twice -- or three or four times! -- before burning a bridge with Oprah," Zwecker quoted an unnamed TV industry executive as saying.
