ATLANTA, July 6 (UPI) -- U.S. cable network CNN says it has canceled "In the Arena with Eliot Spitzer" and will fill its timeslot with Anderson Cooper's "AC360" starting next month.
The Hollywood Reporter said Wednesday CNN will broadcast "AC360" live at 8 p.m. ET, then re-air it in its current time slot of 10 p.m.
"I'm looking forward to the new time slot and am excited to share 'AC360' with a new audience at 8 p.m., while still connecting with my regular viewers at 10 p.m.," The Hollywood Reporter quoted Cooper as saying.
No reason for the show's cancellation was reported.
Journalist Kathleen Parker announced in February she was leaving the U.S. nightly program "Parker Spitzer" after five months because she wanted to devote more time to writing. CNN then announced it would begin airing "In the Arena."
Spitzer resigned as New York governor in 2007 after it was discovered he had been patronizing prostitutes.
