LOS ANGELES, June 28 (UPI) -- Sunday's live premiere of the 2011 BET Awards in Los Angeles drew 7.7 million total viewers, the cable network said.

This year's event saw Chris Brown win a leading four awards. It also featured performances and appearances by Justin Bieber, Hosea Chanchez, Diddy-Dirty Money, Drake, Pooch Hall, Steve Harvey, Taraji P. Henson, Alicia Keys, Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Tracee Ellis Ross, Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Kerry Washington.
