Miss California declared Miss USA 2011

LAS VEGAS, June 19 (UPI) -- Miss California Alyssa Campanella won the Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas Sunday night.

The 21-year-old redhead represented New Jersey at the Miss Teen USA 2007 competition, where she was first runner-up to Hilary Cruz.

The first runner-up in the Miss USA 2011 race was Miss Tennessee Ashley Durham, while the second runner-up was Miss Alabama Madeline Mitchell.

Andy Cohen, host of Bravo's "Watch What Happens: Live," and Giuliana Rancic, co-anchor of "E! News," served as hosts of the 2011 Miss USA pageant at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Singer and TV personality Kelly Osbourne provided color commentary for the event, which aired live on NBC.

Campanella will represent the United States in the Miss Universe competition Sept. 12 in Brazil.
