LOS ANGELES, June 16 (UPI) -- Dave Chappelle's publicist says the U.S. comedian is not planning a return to television, contrary to online rumors claiming he is.

The popular comic has made few public appearances since reportedly walking away several years ago from a $50 million contract to continue starring in his sketch comedy series "Chappelle's Show" on Comedy Central.

While there has been vague speculation for months about the possibility Chappelle will return to the small-screen, The Daily reported Thursday the comedian is in talks with a subscription service similar Hulu or Netflix to star in a show over which he would have tremendous creative control.

However, Chappelle's representative Carla Sims told EW.com the story is "absolutely untrue."

One source told the entertainment news Web site Chappelle, 37, is still trying to figure out what he wants to do with his career.

"He's enjoying his life; he has a new daughter and is just doing what he's really passionate about -- stand-up," the insider told EW.com.
