NEW YORK, June 2 (UPI) -- Production has begun in Mystic, Conn., on "Remains," Chiller's second original movie, the cable TV network said.

Starring Grant Bowler, Lance Reddick, Miko Hughes and Tawny Cypress, the film is about survivors of a zombie apocalypse. Based on "30 Days of Night" creator Steve Niles' graphic novel, it began shooting Wednesday.

"'Remains' is set in a chilling post-apocalyptic Reno, Nevada, and follows the survivors of a bizarre accident that reduced most of the world's population to zombies," Chiller said in a synopsis. "The group takes refuge in a vacant casino and fights a losing battle against the undead, who grow steadily stronger, smarter and more aggressive by the minute."

"Remains" is the second project for Chiller this year. Production recently wrapped on Brian Keene's "Ghoul," starring Nolan Gould.
