WASHINGTON, April 23 (UPI) -- Washington police say Charlie Sheen's publicist ponied up $445 to pay for the police escort Sheen received on his way to his live show this week.

Two police SUVs accompanied Sheen from Dulles International Airport to DAR Constitution Hall in order to make his 8 p.m. EDT curtain on time.

A police spokeswoman told the Washington Post that Sheen's publicist wrote out the check on the same day.

Providing an escort for a television star raised some eyebrows in the District of Columbia where such treatment is usually reserved for diplomats and heads of state.
