BURBANK, Calif., April 23 (UPI) -- Burbank, Calif., police say that was Jay Leno trying to literally light a fire under his stalled car.

Leno was spotted on the side of the road Friday by officers who were immediately concerned about the flames they saw.

But, TMZ.com said, Saturday, the fire was actually a torch Leno was using to re-light the boiler on his 1906 Stanley Steamer, an antique car that runs on steam rather than $4 a gallon gasoline.

The U.S. late-night television talk show host is a well known car buff and he and his passenger were soon again chugging along the streets of Burbank, the home base of "The Tonight Show."
