HOLLYWOOD, April 25 (UPI) -- The creators of the CBS drama "Blue Bloods" have cut their ties with the first-year series despite some solid ratings, sources told The Hollywood Reporter.

The departure of Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green leaves "Blue Bloods" with a leadership vacuum at a time when CBS has not yet committed to a second season.

Burgess and Green have a long history together, having worked on "The Sopranos" and other series. The reason for the breakup was not known.

The Reporter said Saturday the series, which stars Tom Selleck, has three more episodes left to air and drew nearly 11 million viewers last weekend.
