LOS ANGELES, April 18 (UPI) -- Julia Louis-Dreyfus is to play vice president of the United States in a new HBO comedy series, Deadline reported.
Louis-Dreyfus is an Emmy Award-winning actress best known for her work on the sitcoms "Seinfeld" and "The New Adventures of Old Christine."
Her latest project, "Veep," is set in Washington and was created by British comedian, writer and director Armando Iannucci, who is famous for his U.K. series, "The Thick of It," Deadline said.
The show, set for a 2012 debut, will co-star Anna Chlumsky, Tony Hale, Sufe Bradshaw, Reid Scott, Tim Simons and Matt Walsh, the entertainment news Web site said.
