LOS ANGELES, April 11 (UPI) -- NBC says Steve Carell's final episode of the U.S. sitcom "The Office" will be 50 minutes long.

Carell has played boss-from-hell Michael Scott on the Americanized version of the British series for seven seasons.

He is due to depart the show April 28. The season finale, which is expected to at least hint at Scott's replacement as regional branch manager of Dunder Mifflin, is to air next month.

NBC said the April 28 episode of "Parks and Recreation," which is to be broadcast after "The Office" will be 40 minutes long.
