LOS ANGELES, April 4 (UPI) -- Britain's upcoming royal wedding will figure into the plot line of an episode of the U.S. sitcom "The Middle," ABC said Monday.

Starring Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn, the show is about a working-class couple raising three children in Indiana.

The April 20 episode of the series is called "Royal Wedding."

Prince William is to marry Kate Middleton April 29 at Westminster Abbey in London.

"Obsessed with the upcoming royal wedding, Frankie shocks her family when she treats the event like the Super Bowl and begins purchasing commemorative chotchkies -- as well as an expensive HDTV -- to enjoy the festivities," ABC said in a news release.
