NEW YORK, March 23 (UPI) -- ABC will not press charges against recording artist Chris Brown, who allegedly smashed a window at the "Good Morning America" studio, TMZ said.

Brown reportedly flew into a rage after "GMA" anchor Robin Roberts asked him questions during an interview Tuesday about a violent episode involving his ex-girlfriend, pop star Rihanna.

Brown, who is making the rounds promoting his new album, is on probation for assaulting Rihanna during a heated argument in a car in February 2009.

He could have faced prison time if it was determined he violated his probation by committing vandalism at the "GMA" studio. That won't happen since ABC has decided not to involve police in the matter, TMZ reported Wednesday.

It is unclear whether Brown will pay for the broken window, the celebrity news Web site said.
