NEW YORK, March 22 (UPI) -- New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia is to make his first appearance on "Late Show with David Letterman," CBS said Tuesday.

Sabathia is to talk about the start of the team's 2011 baseball season during his March 30 visit.

The pitcher, who ended the 2010 baseball season with a record of 21-7 and a 3.18 ERA, begins the 2011 regular season for the Yankees as the No. 1 pitcher in the team's rotation.

Sabathia is expected to be the Opening Day starting pitcher against the Detroit Tigers at Yankee Stadium the day after his "Late Show" appearance, CBS said.
