Elwes to appear in 'Wonder Woman' pilot

LOS ANGELES, March 4 (UPI) -- British actor Cary Elwes has joined the cast of NBC's "Wonder Woman" pilot, EW.com said Friday.

Elwes is best known for his work in the films "Lady Jane," "The Princess Bride," "Hot Shots," "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" and "Saw."

EW.com said the actor will play the chief executive officer of Themyscira Industries, the company for which Diana Prince/Wonder Woman works.

Adrianne Palicki is to play the superheroine in the pilot.
