Russell Brand to hand out Oscars

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Feb. 21 (UPI) -- British comedian Russell Brand is to be a presenter at the 83rd Academy Awards show in Los Angeles, the telecast's producers said Monday.

This will be his first appearance on an Oscar show.

Brand will next be seen in the remake of "Arthur" this April. His other film credits include "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," "Bedtime Stories," "Get Him to the Greek," "Despicable Me" and "The Tempest."

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2010 will be presented Sunday at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center, and televised live on the ABC Television Network.
