

NEW YORK, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Christina Aguilera is to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" as part of the Super Bowl XLV pregame show at Cowboys Stadium in North Texas, the NFL said Monday.
The pregame show and Super Bowl are to be televised Feb. 6 on FOX.
Aguilera's performance is to take place prior to kickoff.
The Black Eyed Peas are to perform in the Bridgestone Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show.
More than 153 million viewers in the United States watched last year's Super Bowl, the most-watched television program in history, the NFL said in a news release.
"I have been performing the (National) Anthem since I was 7 years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true," Aguilera said in a statement. "I am really excited to be part of such an iconic event."
Aguilera previously performed during halftime of Super Bowl XXXIV in Atlanta.
