CHICAGO, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Michelle Obama made a quick trip Friday to Chicago to tape an episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on supporting military families, her staff said.

The show, which also features former NBC anchor Tom Brokaw and author and Washington Post editor Bob Woodward, is scheduled to air Jan. 27, the Chicago Tribune said. A military family was also scheduled to be on the show.

The first lady was to discuss her plans for a national campaign of support for the families of men and women in the military, WMAQ-TV said.

Brokaw is the author of "The Greatest Generation," about the veterans of World War II. Woodward served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy before he joined The Washington Post and became famous with Carl Bernstein for breaking the Watergate story.
