TV's 'Empire' wins big at Globes

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Jan. 16 (UPI) -- "Boardwalk Empire" won for Best TV Drama and its star, Steve Buscemi, took the Best Actor honor at the Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif., Sunday.

"This is quite an honor," Buscemi said when he picked up the statuette for his portrayal of a Prohibition-era mob boss. "I want to thank everybody at HBO for the tremendous support you have given to this show. It really means a lot to us and I hope we do it for years and years and years, so thank you so much."

Katey Sagal was named Best Actress in a TV Drama.

The former cast member of "Married with Children" and "Lost" earned the Globe for her work in "Sons of Anarchy."

"This is awesome," she told the star-studded crowd gathered in the ballroom of the Beverly Hilton hotel. "I am so shocked. ... I've just been working so many years and I'm so honored to be up here. Thank you, Hollywood Foreign Press, you are so sweet."

Al Pacino picked up the award for Best Actor in a TV miniseries or movie for his work in "You Don't Know Jack," while Claire Danes won the equivalent Best Actress trophy for her performance in "Temple Grandin."
