LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- The operators of the Texas rehab center treating velvet-voiced vagrant Ted Williams say they have locked down the facility to keep the paparazzi at bay.

Williams wound up in treatment a matter of days after he was "discovered" on Internet videos, impressing folks in Columbus, Ohio, with his deep, radio-style voice.

But the honeymoon didn't last long, and Williams was shipped out to the Origins Recovery Center Thursday following an appearance on "Dr. Phil" and a noisy argument at a Los Angeles hotel that brought Los Angeles police to the scene, TMZ reported Saturday.

The center told TMZ it posted extra security to ensure Williams could focus on his treatment program.

TMZ said the bill for Williams' stay at Origins was being picked up by an anonymous benefactor who is not Dr. Phil.
