PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- The 9th annual TV Land Awards ceremony is to be held in New York for the first time, the network's president, Larry W. Jones, has announced.

The star-studded celebration will honor Bill Cosby and the entire cast of "The Cosby Show," Michael J. Fox and the ensemble of "Family Ties" and other titans of television to be announced soon, the network said.

This year's show will tape and air in April.

"New York City is the world's biggest stage and the backdrop to many iconic television shows," Jones said in a statement Wednesday. "It is the perfect spot to celebrate this fun and spectacular evening honoring some of the greatest names in TV, film and music."

The awards presentation usually tapes in California.
