NEW YORK, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Comedy Central says it will roast U.S. real-estate mogul and television personality Donald Trump on a TV special to air next spring.
The program will be taped March 9 in New York, the cable network said Thursday.
"I'll show up to the roast because Comedy Central is paying me a lot of money, but I'm confused as to how anybody could make fun of me," Trump said in a statement Thursday.
"Donald Trump is a brilliant businessman, who has made the Trump name a worldwide brand," said Elizabeth Porter, the network's senior vice president of specials and talent. "We are so glad he agreed to be roasted. I'm hoping he buys me a plane."
