NEW YORK, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- The History cable channel says it will open its first temporary pop-up store, dedicated to its series "Pawn Stars" and "American Pickers," in New York.
The History Pop Shop is to open Monday at 1501 Broadway in the heart of Times Square. It will remain open for a month and is intended to connect History fans with the shows through exclusive merchandise and in-store, interactive elements, the network said.
"Pawn Stars'" Rick Harrison and "American Pickers'" Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz are expected to attend Monday's grand opening to greet fans and sign autographs, the announcement said.
"History is thrilled to offer this multi-dimensional holiday experience in one of the world's most popular holiday locations, Times Square in New York City," Steve Ronson, executive vice president of enterprises at AETN, said in a statement Tuesday. "From our unique shop, daily giveaways and custom virtual game, we are confident that this inspiring holiday experience which was created as a 'thank you' to our fans will provide visitors the opportunity to connect with two of our network's top shows."
