LOS ANGELES, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Lifetime Television says it has green-lit an original U.S. movie called "Unanswered Prayers," based on the popular Garth Brooks song of the same name.

Set to premiere in November, the TV movie will explore the themes of marriage, family, community and second chances with love, the network said in a synopsis. It co-stars Eric Close, Madchen Amick and Samantha Mathis.

"Unanswered Prayers" -- which Brooks composed with Larry B. Bastian and Pat Alger -- reached the No. 1 spot on country charts when it was released in 1990.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the film will shoot in the Richmond, Va., area.

"Through his music, Garth Brooks is one of the greatest American storytellers ever, and we couldn't be more excited to be working with him on adapting 'Unanswered Prayers' into a major original movie," Tanya Lopez, senior vice president of original movies of Lifetime Networks, said in a statement Monday. "There's a reason Garth is one of the top-selling recording artists of all-time -- among the likes of The Beatles and Elvis Presley -- and the huge popularity of 'Unanswered Prayers' is proof his work touches so many people."
