Official: 'Real Housewife' hid assets

TRENTON, N.J., Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Reality star Teresa Guidice, and her husband Joe, from the program "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," hid assets in their bankruptcy filing, an official says.

The trustee overseeing their bankruptcy petition asked a judge to block its discharge because the couple lied about, and hid assets in its filing, RadarOnline.com reported.

Roberta A. DeAngelis, the U.S. Trustee overseeing the bankruptcy petition, filed a Complaint Objecting To Discharge in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, asking the court to not grant the couple's Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition because of "falsehoods" and omissions in their filing.

DeAngelis said the couple knowingly filed statements they knew were untrue, and failed to disclose numerous substantial assets, the report said.

The complaint made special note of Teresa's signing of a contract in a book deal for $250,000, just a week before filing the bankruptcy petition. The income was not reported, he said. DeAngelis also alleged the couple filed false income tax returns.
