Miss Mexico crowned Miss Universe in Vegas

NEW YORK, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Miss Mexico, Jimena Navarrete, was crowned Miss Universe 2010 Monday night at a ceremony in Las Vegas.

Navarrete is 21 and says she loves nature, boating, riding motorcycles, spending time with her family and traveling, the Miss Universe Organization said.

First runner-up is Miss Jamaica, Yendi Phillipps, and second runner-up is Miss Australia, Jesinta Campbell.

Bret Michaels and NBC's "Today" show co-host and correspondent Natalie Morales served as hosts at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. The pageant aired on NBC and Telemundo.

John Legend & The Roots and Viva Elvis by Cirque du Soleil performed live during the competition.

The judging panel included Criss Angel, William Baldwin, Sheila E, Tamron Hall, Evan Lysacek, Chazz Palminteri, Chynna Phillips, Jane Seymour and Niki Taylor.
