ROSEMONT, Ill., Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich said he enjoyed being back among the people this weekend as he signed autographs at a Chicago-area comic book convention.

Blagojevich had his own booth at the Wizard World Comic Con in Rosemont where he shook hands, posed for pictures with fans dressed as super heroes and signed autographs at a pricey $50 a pop.

"It's pretty fun to be out and be able to feel the warmth and the support from the people," said Blagojevich, who last week was convicted on a charge of lying to a federal agent and faces a second corruption trial on 23 deadlocked counts.

The Chicago Sun-Times said Sunday that Blagojevich drew a good crowd and had a chance to meet Adam West, the star of the old "Batman" television series that the ex-governor said was one of his faves when he was a kid.
