LOS ANGELES, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Former "Heroes" co-star Masi Oka has joined the cast of the upcoming remake of the police drama series "Hawaii Five-0."

TVGuide.com said Oka will debut as a coroner in the show's fourth episode, for which he will be billed as a guest star. However, the Web site said it is likely his character will be upgraded to a regular part of the ensemble in the future.

The show stars Alex O'Loughlin, Scott Caan and Daniel Dae Kim.
