Ken Baumann joins 'Castle' cast

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Actor Ken Baumann has been cast in a recurring role on the U.S. mystery series "Castle," ABC said Thursday.

Baumann, who is known for his work on TV's "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," will play the first boyfriend of Alexis Castle, portrayed by Molly Quinn.

"Richard Castle (played by Nathan Fillion) is dealing with the fact Alexis is excited about having her first boyfriend, but he's unnerved that she's not confiding in him with all the details," ABC said in a synopsis.

Season 3 of "Castle" is to premiere Sept. 20.
