LOS ANGELES, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- U.S. actor William Petersen has signed on to co-star with Christina Hendricks and Lucy Liu in the film "Detachment."

The Hollywood Reporter said the movie will be his first screen role since he left "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" last year to find new challenges. He has since been working largely in theater.
