LOS ANGELES, July 23 (UPI) -- Facebook Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg is to play himself on an upcoming episode of the animated series "The Simpsons," the Los Angeles Times said.

Facebook is the online social networking site that recently surpassed 500 million users.

The Times said the site's 26-year-old proprietor is to lend his voice to the animated version of himself on an installment of "The Simpsons" this fall.

The show, which is famous for its pop-culture references, is going into its 22nd season.
