NEW YORK, July 21 (UPI) -- Rapper-actor Ice-T indicated via Twitter he is furious over his arrest in New York for allegedly driving with a suspended license and not wearing a seat belt.
The 52-year-old star, who has played a Manhattan cop on TV's "Law & Order: SVU" since 2000, was waiting at the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel Tuesday morning when the mirror of his car brushed against a police officer at a random checkpoint, prompting the officer to try to pull Ice-T over, authorities told the New York Post.
The Post said the actor kept going, so the cop ran up to his car and banged on its tinted window to get him to stop. When he did, police said they discovered he had been driving with a suspended license, had no valid insurance and was not wearing a seat belt.
He was taken to a police station, given a desk-appearance ticket and released, the newspaper said.
"Some punk bitch rookie cop named Fisher made the arrest of his (expletive) career today," Ice-T later tweeted. "Arresting the Notorious Ice T for no seatbelt! . . . (The cop) said, 'I know who you are, and I don't give a (expletive.)' That was right after I called him a punk bitch."
He later told the Post, "I think (the officer) got his rocks off bringing me in the station in handcuffs."
