LOS ANGELES, July 6 (UPI) -- Bristol Palin, a teen mom and the daughter of former GOP nominee for U.S. vice president Sarah Palin, says she has no plans to act full time.

Palin, 19, appeared on Monday's edition of the television family drama series, "The Secret Life of the American Teenager." A real-life mother to a 2 1/2-year-old son named Tripp, Palin played a teen mom in her guest-starring role on the show.

Asked if she plans to try and book more acting jobs, Palin told UsMagazine.com: "Not acting. I like doing speaking engagements and stuff like that. Right now I'm just focused on raising Tripp."

Palin also admitted she would be pleased if her appearance on "Secret" gets parents and their children talking.

"I just hope that this show opens up a dialogue between parents and teens -- and teens amongst themselves -- about the consequences of teen pregnancy, sex in general and relationships," she told the magazine's Web site.
