LOS ANGELES, July 2 (UPI) -- Actress Tori Spelling says her husband and U.S. reality TV show co-star Dean McDermott has been released from the intensive care unit of a California hospital.

McDermott suffered a punctured and collapsed lung during a dirt-biking mishap this week.

"I ended (up) smashing my chest into my bars as I went over the front of the bike," People.com said McDermott tweeted Thursday night. "It was a freak accident. Oh, and (I have) 3 stitches in my right butt cheek where a stone got imbedded. Let's just say, I (won't) be dirt biking anymore."

E! News quoted Spelling as saying via Twitter Friday that McDermott remains hospitalized, but has been moved out of the ICU.

"He's been moved from ICU to a regular room! Yay! I'll tell him everyone sends their love," Spelling tweeted.

The couple star on TV's "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood."
