LOS ANGELES, June 30 (UPI) -- The U.S. cable television network Starz announced Wednesday it will not renew "Party Down" and "Gravity" for additional seasons.

The critically well-received comedy "Party Down" ran for two seasons but suffered low ratings, EW.com said. Also, its stars, Adam Scott and Jane Lynch, left to appear on other shows, the Web site said.

"Gravity," which premiered in April, is a comedy-drama that starred Krysten Ritter, Eric Schaeffer, Rachel Hunter and Ving Rhames.

"After careful consideration, we've decided not to continue on with subsequent seasons of 'Party Down' and 'Gravity,'" Executive Vice President of Programming Stephan Shelanski, said in a statement. "We're grateful to everyone involved in the shows, and are proud to have had them on the channel. Starz remains committed to aggressively expanding our original programming lineup."
