NEW YORK, June 18 (UPI) -- "The View" panelists Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd are each to moderate an episode of the U.S. chat show for the first time next week, ABC said.

Hasselbeck and Shepherd will take turns in usual moderator Whoopi Goldberg's chair Wednesday and Friday respectively, Bill Geddie, executive producer of "The View," announced Friday.

Television personality/game show host Tom Bergeron will handle the moderator's duties Monday and actor/comedian/radio personality D.L. Hughley is to do the job Tuesday.

This marks the first time the show has had male guest moderators, ABC said.
